The great St. Katharine Docks Egg Hunt

Spring 2018

Over the Easter weekend, St. Katharine Docks turned into a hunting ground for families and eager children.

Specially-designed eggs were placed on placards all over the docks, to celebrate our 190th anniversary. Each featured a cargo that was once unloaded off the ships that moored here, from tea and wool, to carpets, indigo and marble.

While the weather was mixed, there were very focused faces as the children grabbed crayons and drew the nine egg designs on their hunt sheets.

Eggs-quisite prizes

After an hour or so (or longer for those who stopped off for well-deserved tea and cake), and with their sheet full, the children were rewarded with bags of mini chocolate eggs.

They weren’t the only sugary treats on offer though. Everyone who uploaded their handiwork onto Twitter and Instagram with #EasterAtStKats went into the hat to win some Fortnum & Mason bunnies, and the grand prize of a Fortnum & Mason Easter Hamper. You won’t be surprised to hear they were very warmly received!

Egg-citing news

Even the BBC were on the docks on Good Friday, updating the nation on the snowy Easter weather with some of our local yachts for company!

As we move into, hopefully, some warmer days ahead – keep the 20 April in mind. The St. Katharine Docks Tea Dance is a cracking event, and will be eggs-tra special as we celebrate our 190th year.
