SKD AHOY Oarsome Rowing Challenge

This Summer, we're pleased to announce the SKD AHOY Oarsome Rowing Challenge.
The Challenge:

The challenge is an 8.5 mile row on the River Thames past the Houses of Parliament through the centre of London, under Tower Bridge, past St. Kats, with the finish at The AHOY Centre in Greenwich.

The SKD Oarsome Rowing Challenge will consist of 14 boats, with space for 6 team members in each boat. The whole of the SKD community are invited to get involved, whether you're an office worker, berth holder, resident or restaurant worker!

Registration & Fundraising:

There is a registration fee of £50 per team member. The registration fee can be paid direct to your online fundraising page—this counts towards your overall target of £2,000 per team. AHOY have plenty of great ideas to kick start your fundraising, so speak to them for support.

The money received through the Oarsome Challenge provides vital funding for AHOY. It enables them to deliver life-changing training, courses and programmes to both vulnerable/disadvantaged young people and disabled people who need help and to be given an opportunity in life.

The Training Programme:

All teams must complete a 3 hour training session before embarking on the challenge—this is provided by The Ahoy Centre. Teams MUST achieve at least 50% of their total target before training takes place. Ahoy provide all the equipment needed, and the water training for your team.

The team from AHOY will be based in the Reception area of International House on Thursday 28th March from 11am-2pm to answer any of your questions.
