Oarsome Rowing Challenge

27 July 2020

This Summer, we're pleased to announce for the second year, the SKD AHOY Oarsome Rowing Challenge.

The AHOY Centre are a charity, changing lives through sailing and rowing. Their work helps to support young people meet their full potential, giving disadvantaged and/or at risk youth the opportunity to flourish on and off the water. AHOY’s 14 full-time employees look after around 1,000 people each year with the team getting most of their funding through the rowing challenges.

The Challenge
An 8.5 mile row on the River Thames through the centre of London, under Tower Bridge, past St. Kats, with the finish in Greenwich. The SKD Oarsome Rowing Challenge will consist of 12 boats, with space for 6 team members in each boat. The whole of the SKD community are invited to get involved, whether you’re an office worker, berth holder, resident or restaurant worker!

Registration & Fundraising
There is a registration fee of £50 per team member. The registration fee can be paid direct to your online fundraising page—this counts towards your overall target of £2,000 per team. The money received through the Oarsome Challenge provides vital funding for AHOY. It enables them to
deliver life-changing training, courses and programmes to both vulnerable/ disadvantaged young people and disabled people who need help and to be given an opportunity in life.
