St. Katharine Docks is proudly working with Yacht Carbon Offset to counterbalance the carbon impact of boating to the marina.

Most customers visiting St. Katharine Docks use a fossil fuel powered engine to transit along the Thames. Visitors are now being offered the opportunity to carbon offset their fuel emissions by making a voluntary £1 carbon offset donation. The marina is also matching every contribution made. The £1 is added to the marina fee and can be removed on request. Each donation is sufficient to counterbalance close to 100 kg CO2e of GHG emissions and is invested into carbon offset projects. To lead the way, St. Katharine Docks has counterbalanced its customers’ fuel emissions for Q1, 2022. The project selected for this Carbon Offset was the Chacayes Hydroelectric Power Project, Chile.

Yacht Carbon Offset will estimate the associated greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and counterbalance them on a tonne-for-tonne basis using the carbon reduction project that St. Katharine Docks has selected to support, issuing a certificate for each offset. The quantity of carbon offsets will be based on customer participation at St. Katharine Docks.
